Most of you who have followed me through Tumblr have seen my struggles of being a single mom. I hustled my way through life to support my daughter and I in any way possible — mostly through selling my artwork. In case it hasn’t been obvious, I’ve been M.I.A. for awhile because I finally found my happiness and was pretty preoccupied. =)
13 years ago, I met someone who I knew I’d always keep close to my heart. On Friday, March 9th, I married him and had the best night of my life. These past few months have been a fairy tale & absolute dream come true. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who came and took part in such a special day in our lives. I’m a wifey now & Jazzy and I finally have a complete family. Yay!!!! ♥
With that said, my life is finally complete. I was on a wedding/honeymoon high for awhile… but it’s a month after our wedding and it’s probably time to get back into the art game.
I’m finally participating in an Art Show after a VERY LONG period of being MIA! Come out this Saturday at 5pm to Vintage Renewals in Pomona for their monthly artwalk! I seem to always go through this phase — a sort of funk, where I can’t seem to find what it is I’m searching for in order to find motivation to paint as much as I used to. During the holidays, I started painting more pop-culture-ish pieces so that I could attract a larger fan base and sell more than I usually do. Although I love Hello Kitty and Sanrio characters, I can only handle painting so much of it before getting tired of doing the same thing over and over again. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll continue to produce my HK/Sanrio/Fabric pieces… but my heart is telling me to go back to painting other things. Call it an “almost-30” life crisis, or just plain artist’s block… but I seriously need to get deeper with my pieces in order to find my way again. Get ready to see the deeper side of me come out again. I need to get back into writing, and then painting pieces around them. It may not be this month, or the month after that… but stay tuned, because audibleSOUL is about to get down and dirty!

Recycled Tee Series - “Made Fresh Daily”
*PLEASE NOTE: I am by no means, trying to take away from the creators/clothing lines of the shirts I am using for my “Recycled Tee” Series. The point of the “Recycled Tee” Series is to take any clothes that can no longer be worn, and make art out of them, rather than throwing them away (due to reasons that may cause a person to not be able to wear it anymore, ie worn-out, damaged, doesn’t fit, etc). In all of my paintings, I give credit to whatever clothing line contributed to the piece.
